Always something interesting in this newsletter. Many things, actually. I was particularly interested to learn about the stunning sums the city of Chicago has had to pay out because of repeated misconduct by police officers. It seems to me that repetition of this kind of conduct on the part of any individual police officer needs to be a "lose-your-job" offense. I'm not from there and don't know enough about the Chicago Police Department to understand the dynamics among the Police force, the Police union, the city administration and the general population brings about this kind of situation. But one would think that hitting the city pocketbook that hard might bring about some sort of improvement.

The union exercises an enormous amount of power casting its shadow all throughout city politics. I’ve been a member of a police union and this one makes mine look like minor leagues.

Great points and Chicago is in the spotlight with ICE raids too. Probable money to “Militarization” of police departments thanks to poor policy from old decisions made, DOD now DOW giving the WRONG message and direction for all police departments especially those with rotten apples! WTF Blackhawk helicopters!! Those poor freaked out apartment residents! Insane tactics! I call BS!! Just wrong!!it’s a nightmare we must all call out!

Thank you for adding the militarization point. I had forgotten about that. Still shaking with anger at that Federal raid.

The minority of corrupt, brute and or lawless practices and acts of the bad acting uniformed officers are the defacto occurrences of what defunds the police.

I think you’re right. And another poster above cited the militarization of police departments as another factor. That kind of training and weaponry encourages the bad apples you mention to become even worse.

X, you posted a lot of necessary stories and some I've only just learnd about. But this one: "Louisville detective Brett Hankison was ordered to report to federal prison after a judge denied his bid to delay sentencing. Hankison, the only officer convicted in the botched 2020 raid that killed Breonna Taylor, received a 33-month term for violating her civil rights." This guy needs to sit with himself for 33 months and then go back and make amends to everyone who grieved and hurt over this travesty. No, I didn't know Breonna, but now I never will.

You can publish on your own deadline. You are the boss of you.

Parents, educators, and individuals should have the opportunity to take in books and teaching materials to be able to develop discernment and free thought.

Without the openess of opportunities ideals and ideologies ONLY biases on what another gives and or stands for can thwart the different perspectives which doesn't allow for a self development or any introduction, any introspection of varied views.

Thanks again for the time and effort you've delivered to develop a well rounded, well grounded, exposure to firm facts and truth of topics and issues that can matter individually and globally.

X been waiting for your newsletter. First hope your health is good. That’s the most important. Thank you for keeping us informed. It’s a shame what’s going on in Chicago and Portland. That we actually have military in our own cities for what?
