Clearly written. I like the way you tie it all together synergistically at the end.

This column is always worth your time, for its clarity and perspective. I especially liked your take on the TX Democratic primary, because both views can be true at once. It doesn't hurt to note that the Talarico campaign had a lot more money, so it can be inferred that "electablility" was an issue for donors. This old white guy admires Mr. Talarico's moral clarity but wishes he had some of Rep. Crockett's fire and wit. And hopes that, should he be elected, he remembers to represent Rep. Crockett's voters, as well as his donors.

And it is worth noting the stunning disparity in voter enthusiasm between the Democratic and Republican primaries, as judged by the number of voters.

The very process of American political campaigns weed out those who challenge the status quo. Campaign finances favor the well to do and well connected. Party machinery favors the insider. Electability favors those who most clearly mirror the electorate or their self image.

There are SO MANY skeletons in the American closet and little will to confront any of them.

Meanwhile the world is literally dying species by species at an accelerating rate, while we are manipulated to look away. High tech missiles and drones rain down on the Middle East, killing indiscriminately. Iranian made drones, purchased by Russia, swarm Ukraine destroying more and more lives. People die around the world of curable disease and hunger.

This is what humans, with our big brains, have chosen to do with our lives and our planet.

Wow! It's breathe takingly crazy here in the US now. I want to ask the twump voters what they think about the current WH dweller now! They voted for the orange turd by voting against immigrants, DEI and trans rights. And what did they get for their vote?

A fckd up economy and a bunch of rich, pedophile predators owning the media and befuddling their poor brains some more with lies, distortions, evasions and AI aided, unlimited gas-lighting?

Higher prices, another war, more confusion, chaos and crazy mixed with government sanctioned, masked gunmen who wear no ID (or any identifying markings) yet insist you prove to THEM that you are a citizen or they may beat you or kill you or merely disappear you and leave your car in the street, running with the windows broken out and all of your ID scattered on the ground. They say DL, bank cards and the like are "easily faked" and are not proof of citizenship! Who carries that degree of proof in America the home of the free? If you don't have a passport uyou're out of luck.

I've read that some ICE agents even refused birth certificates as proof of ID/citizenship.

Of course the operative question is where does it all end? Who knows but I'm not going to lay down and merely take what is meted out. I resist figuratively and literally. Whatever it takes.

No Kings!!! No Surrender!!!

I'm overwhelmed this Saturday and yet, I keep reading... only thing that breaks through my fog is Jasmine Crockett... I will miss her fire and expertise. I've been thinking a lot about her since she conceded. She is one of the most articulate and knowledgeable speakers I've ever had the honor of listening to... and, she knows how to throw down in the so-called civilized arena. She has been a breath of fresh air... she's back on the hill for now... thank you Ms. Crockett, don't be a stranger. She will forever be a person to watch!
