Yeah, baby! Indiana has more registered Independents than either Republicans or Democrats (about 3,000 more Repubs than Democrats). People are pissed enough that I think they'd have turned a lot of their counties blue anyway (if there isn't any cheating). I believe this gerrymanding crap is a smokescreen to cover what he and Elon have planned. But--for the time being--yay, Hooisers (and IU is #1 and undefeated in the big 10==my alma mater)!

A question for you - from someone across the pond who can't feel the temperature in the US first hand and needs a guide - does this mean Tumps's own party is turning against him? Is there hope that the MAGA alliance could fracture? Or is this just a momentary pause, and then they'll rejoin?

Ben, my humble read from over here is that they see the writing on the wall. Trump’s getting older, the magic is fading, the economy is wobbling, and the MAGA coalition has started eating its own instead of just eating Democrats.

So moves like Indiana’s aren’t suddenly brave, they’re self-preservation from people who don’t want to go down with a sinking ship. So yes, there’s a real fracture starting, but it’s jittery and self-interested, not moral courage which means what we do in the next year decides whether this is a brief pause or the beginning of the breakup.

Thank you. That confirms what I guess I was suspecting. It's not so much prorgess of something better, as regress of the Trump hegemony among Republicans. But there is hope in what you're saying, and from this side of the Atlantic, that seems like a very precious commodity right now.

We also need to support the shadow administration that will step into the void created when this regime collapses.

The party of Grifting Old Pedos will spawn opportunists galore that will require culling. Each of these warped humans vying for their own sphere of influence, like their incel fantasies featuring AI enhanced versions of warlords of old.

Thank goodness Trump is getting pushback on his bullying. I have increasing hope that the Democrats will sweep the midterms.

“For Black communities especially, the message is simple: when you organize, watch the process, and refuse to be silent, you can sometimes keep the mapmakers from erasing you.”

Xplisset, that’s a critical message.

They can fiddle with the maps all they want, Americans red and blue are waking up to the fact of that trump is screwing ALL of us. It's all been a CON when we can't afford basics, Food, Healthcare and Housing. The boulder has started down the hill.

I dig the race(!) angle that you examine and its hope for a broader "cross-racial, cross-party" way of politics. Thank you.

Thanks for the coverage XP! Some good news that like whatever good trickles through via hard organizational work (like yours XP!) my continued wandering in non-gainful employment land of nod and ever losing the monthly crisis of rent & utilities\necessities & finding work at Wage Stag-Nation reward for a resume of decades hard experience low on totem pole of helping advance useful org change & necessary transformation just beats one down into tapping out & "privatizing" oneself and one's energies and focus.

Hope ya can keep yer focus and energy while keeping bills paid and not over-committing yourself on too many fronts. I marvel at the number of issues you've juggled just in the past few months I've been regularly reading your dispatches of where yer other energies (of direct Activism) have led!

Health and balance,

keep on doing

as I yet again tap out!

Tio Mitchito
