That First $8 Subscriber Wasn’t the Last One

As of July 27, Buy Me a Coffee has reached $200. Annual and monthly memberships have now brought in $168.

When I wrote the first update, there was one new $8 monthly subscriber. One. It had been a long, long time since that happened.

That first signup was not the end of it. Annual and monthly memberships are now at $168.

Buy Me a Coffee was at $95 in the last update. It has reached $200 now, which leaves $500 of the immediate $700 shortage. At the bare floor, that covers four days. The same $50 a day keeps the pain away line I got tired of repeating is being met for four days because people stepped in.

I do not want to mush these figures together and announce that $368 has been raised. The $200 is one-time cash. The $168 includes both annual and monthly memberships. Until I break those plans apart, I cannot honestly say exactly how far the approximately $2,000 monthly gap has moved.

I can say it moved.

That matters because dependable membership support is what decides whether I am back here in August. It also decides whether I have to go back to work full time and reduce XVOA mostly to the Author’s Room and novel updates. I still have to make that decision by July 30. I am looking at a better picture than I was when I wrote the first post, but $500 remains on the immediate shortage and the monthly gap is still large.
