One of the many things that I appreciate about your work, XPlisset, is that you refuse to bite at a conclusion that lacks supporting evidence, but you do not condemn those whose life experience causes them to draw conclusions.

As a white person - and a retired lawyer - I am used to discounting the allegations of people who make claims not supported by physical evidence. And I was used to compartmentalizing, seeing each individual case in isolation. I've been a skeptic about any sort of conspiracy theory. And the conclusions of my Black and Brown friends about police misconduct being widespread looked to me like conspiracy theories. This perspective reflects my life's experiences as a privileged person (though not entirely - as a women and as a person who can be visually identified as an ethnic Jew, I've had my share of hate and discounting).

As I pass into old age, I have seen the limitations and inaccuracies of my prior viewpoint. White Supremacy structurally buries its inconvenient truths. When it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and when it is in the interests of the duck to hide the evidence of its duck-ness, it is reasonable to presume the missing evidence and to conclude that it is a duck.

No, it is not right to draw conclusions that lack adequate supporting evidence. In the criminal justice system, that evidence must rise beyond a reasonable doubt in each individual case.

But beyond the specifics, it is imperative that our societal structures and institutions be corrected so that the truth is no longer buried. Requiring body cameras to be operated at ICE traffic stops is a small step in the right direction. IMO, the struggles against structural racism, patriarchy and xenophobia will be monumental, requiring the efforts of everyone of like mind and heart.

The enemy within is Trump & Co. #VoteBlue!

It's a war Trump & Co won in the 1st hour; it's not a war; it's a "new" war…#VoteBlue!

Dems: an order of magnitude better than the Trump & Co packs of depraved sociopaths.
