Thank you. Wish I had a dollar for every time some man in the room has metaphorically patted me on the head and said, “there, there, there. You’re over reacting.” Essentially telling me to sit down and shut up, since my late teens. I’ve been seeing this hierarchy of everybody else but white men since my teens. Don’t fuck with an old white woman - we’ve got nothing to lose anymore.

I was shocked when (in my all girls Catholic high school religion class) the nun teaching it told us that the reason for the church's objection to birth control was, not for the love of children but to get more bodies for the church. I wasn't shocked that this was the case, only that a Catholic nun would admit it. Of course nuns are the 2nd class citizens in the church. They can't become priests and they must take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience (I personally witnessed the young priest driving in his sports car while the nuns were counting pennies for a trip to the store). I was very fortunate to have a dad who not only loved my mom but actually liked and respected her. I have a son who, as a preteen, spontaneously blurted out that girls are smarter than boys (and he had a valid example for his statement). Nick Fuentes is dangerous, as are his poisonous rantings. As long as idiots like him (and the corrupt MAGA Court) are controlling women's bodies, through law and legislation, we are not free. Women like AOC and Jasmine Crockett are my heros. They have the courage and grit to stand up and fight back. And they're incredibly smart. That's why they're attacked, because they're so formadable. Thank you for standing up for women. I think your voice is important. And now it's time for women to stand up for women!

White woman here: yes, terrified AND yes, been dismantling my own conditioning for years now. We don’t have the “luxury” (if it ever was really such) of allowing misogyny to slide any more. I also agree that the underlying issue really is the belief that some humans are better than other humans and therefore have the right to suppress, oppress, marginalize, crush under the heal - whatever one wants to call it, and enact that belief as policy and law. The man-who-occupies-the-whitehouse is doing it constantly these days in his verbal and vile comments towards reporters who happen to be women and women of color.

I was raised in a high demand religion to be a submissive wife. Only one problem: my dad died of cancer at age 36, leaving my mom to raise 6 children on her own. Because I knew I might need to take care of myself and anyone else who came along, I decided I needed to go to college, so I enlisted in the military for the GI Bill.

After marrying another Marine at 20, I found myself in a situation with a person who acted a lot like Fuentes. I tried to maintain my humanity and my sanity through 10 long years, but I finally realized that our daughters might think that our relationship (fraught with drama and abuse) was normal when I knew that it was not. I wanted a better example for them, so I filed for divorce. Luckily, I had a career and, even though I wasn't finished with my degree, I had the money to support myself and our children. It wasn't much, but it was more than some women have. Lucky also that I could provide for myself and my two littles that had come along because guess who didn't want to pay child support? The person who held the same attitude that Fuentes has now.

If Fuentes ever marries, I hope to high hell it's not to a woman.

Thank you for writing this. Was in the corporate world all my working life became a SVP overseeing training for too many company and both franchise establishments to count. While climbing that ladder in that male dominated corporate world if I could just have had a nickel, only a nickel when being called “honey”, “sweetheart”, or patted on the shoulder that some little twerp man decided he had the right or audacity to touch me even on the shoulder and say “there, there, darling” I would be getting those tax cuts that were just passed in July 2025. Maybe not because any of these men only got that first time for any of those disrespectful, misogynist downgrading words out of their mouths. For the few that dared touch my shoulder for them to feel they deserved to give me some demeaning pat on the shoulder and add some words well let’s just say as my mom has told me from an early age. “I thank God everyday you have the ability to give a look that kills, it will serve you well.”

Yes, I am a white now a retired woman. Was raised by a strong mother who basically took no shit as an administrator for a school district. What a world of crazy people that is, school districts from teachers, librarians, bus drivers and the parents. But that’s another story and digressed. Also have had strong grandmothers and great-grandmothers that raised their first great granddaughter to also take no shit. Both my great-grandmothers were involved in the suffrage movement. One more on the front lines the other more in the background like some kind of resistance runner. Who turned men opinions around even though they didn’t know it fully, she was very stealth. One grandmother a teacher who believed that education will get you anywhere and everything. Looks fade, the brain doesn’t. The other grandmother who worked two jobs even back in the day to provide for her family because my grandfather passed away. Have many aunts, and great aunts who all are basically again, take no shit. You learn what you see and hear. So the point is this would take no shit from some punk-ass 27 year old little white boy who hasn’t had a date or has never been laid. He’d get the “bitch on wheels” as all the wonderful people that I have had the pleasure and opportunity to met and shared with through this journey of life from personal to professional relationships. This ended up as my nickname because they also knew I would have their back and still do. Never fuck with an older white woman we may have grey hair but damn we know a man’s weak spots well…

Thank you, Explisset. How anyone could ever believe, trust, respect, or vote for any person who mocks women or any person, who is prejudiced in any way, who wants to take away rights of anyone, who is trying to control another person’s body and make reproductive laws against their choices and against their doctors, is totally inexplicable.

How any person who is female or in any minority or race or a part of any aspect whatsoever of the wrongful language and action or attempts to place limitations on a group of people, makes no sense. Nobody should ever vote for anyone who has such hateful or controlling thoughts. Even if a person is not in any category put down by someone, if the candidate has put down anybody or tried to reduce the rights of anyone, then that candidate should not be given a vote.

this means a lot, JP4M thank you for saying it so plainly. You’re right: it should be the easiest litmus test in the world that anyone who mocks, limits, or degrades whole groups of people is disqualified from holding power over them.

What gives me hope is readers like you who refuse to normalize this or shrug that sh** off as “just politics.” If more folks adopted your standard “if they’re coming for anyone’s rights, they don’t get my vote” we’d be living in a very different country. I’m grateful you’re here holding that line with me

Usually I do feel crazy, but not this time. I feel sadness. Sad for the young women that will grow-up in this toxic environment. These insecure, weak and petty men need to be stopped. If they are not, a whole generation will be taught to believe that the white man is superior to them. It is not true now and it won't be then. That will be the shame of all this.

I have to praise your ability to state the obvious fact that all males are misogynist or recovering ones. How sad is it that at 75 yrs old you have made me see myself in a light I never wanted to see. I have fought for civil rights, Vietnam, women's lib, gay rights etc.. yet at times I'm still guilty of keeping my mouth closed when I should speak out. I'm more vocal now than ever before but it is no excuse. Being silent is the same as approval. Thank you.

"women as props, Black folks as background noise, queer kids as punchlines"

Nailed it again, Mr. Plisset, ever so succinctly. This was the mindset environment I grew up with in the '50s and '60s. Never even questioned it. It was just my reality.

My family was part of the "white flight" movement of the '50s. I never thought of our move as racially motivated. Perhaps, in our case, it was not. I don't really know my parents' motivation. There weren't any black people in our Providence, RI neighborhood. They just weren't a part of my daily life, so I never thought about them. The houses in the suburbs were just nicer, and I was happy to make the move. Likewise with "queer kids". I never knew any, or that there even were any. And women "knew their place" back in the day.

Lemme make it clear, there’s nothing wrong with being a virgin even at 27, hell even at 40. The problem is when you start stepping out your lane and bad mouthing women and influencing legislation that’s going to restrict the bodies of my daughters, aunties, and grandmothers.

Yes absolutely right X. I was saying that no woman would never be anywhere near him. He’s a vile stinking loser. So I’m not surprised. I’m sure he just steams envious of all the different cultures he despises. He doesn’t have my swag. He doesn’t have our culture. Nothing wrong with being a 40 year old virgin. Look at AC Green. But this guy he is scum so I’m definitely sure that people go the other way when they see him. Except Tucker Carlson.

Thanks X, as an older white woman who has had strong examples from my mother, grandmothers, aunts, great-aunts, and strong female family friends, I can honestly say that “this young man doesn’t have the vaguest notion of who a woman is!” He must have come from a “male dominated and persecuted female household” or I would call it, an “abused spousal relationship”. Sorry young man, but women are the stronger sex, look at all the sh*t we have had to take over the centuries. This kid runs his mouth spewing trash against women, black/dark skinned, and yes queer individuals like he knows them. Sorry boy, never having a date, or been laid, doesn’t give you the right to do that. Women, ALL women must fight to get our freedoms back for self body autonomy, to vote, and to work in any field we want!
