Well, the Coffee Kept Moving. The Subscriptions Didn’t.
As of July 28, Buy Me a Coffee is at $343. That leaves $357 of the immediate shortage, and no new paid subscriptions have come in since the last update.
Buy Me a Coffee was at $200 when I wrote the last update. It is at $343 now. Another $143 came in.
That is a hell of a response, and I need to stop here and thank everybody who bought a coffee, went paid, or was already carrying XVOA before this campaign started. You are the reason it has gotten this far, and I do not take that for granted.
What has not moved is the $168 from new annual and monthly memberships. It is still sitting exactly where it was in the last update. No new paid subscriptions have come in since then.
I need to keep those things separate. The $343 gets the immediate $700 shortage down to $357. At the bare floor, that is almost seven days of the same “$50 a day keeps the pain away” line I got tired of repeating. I can see that shortage getting within reach now.
The membership side is why I had to write the original July 30 post in the first place. One-time money can get me through this shortage. It cannot keep me from being right back here in August. That takes enough paid support for me to keep this news desk operating instead of going back to work full time.
I am not going to repeat the whole first article. I still have to make the decision by July 30. If I have to return to work full time, the regular livestreams, Blackout Briefs and podcasts go away with the hours. XVOA becomes mainly the Author’s Room and novel updates, with news when I can get to it.
