Blistering sir! And all too true. America has lifted up her skirts. We can clearly see her distressed, stained underwear!

Beautifully written. That all PEOPLE are created equal is still worth fighting for. I have felt for a long time that part of the human tragedy is our seemingly innate need to see or create the "other". I think one of the biggest differences between the blues and the reds is that blues understand the existence of the instinctual other, but fight against it, both in themselves (our skeletons) and in our society. Thank you for this wonderful analysis of our countries history of "otherness"

Wow! I really like the idea of Hallowe'en being a time to examine skeletons in our own closets! Now that sort of holiday seems much more useful than stuffing one's self with sugare=y treats! (except chocolate of course.... -one of my skeletons, eh?!) Seriously though, well done! Well thought out, premises of holding two realities at one time... we are human after all, that which I would do I do not... (and all that.. ) but it is the striving to be better and have less and less skeletons that scare us and others.. a work in progress for sure. Perhaps that holiday could be a renewing of efforts to do closet cleaning on an everyday basis.. a good look in the mirror to find the angular, bony, calcified, hard spots..
