The visa-bond invention is horrific. And it goes with ever-steeper fees for all types of visa paperwork, bigger and bigger, not to mention all the time lost submitting more and more paperwork and the threat of sudden and arbitrary deportation. People I know don't want to come here any more. International conferences simply will be held elsewhere.
Yeah Ann and that’s the part that keeps running through my head…they’re acting like America is the only one with choices here, like everybody else has to keep bringing conferences, students, talent and money while we shake them down at the door and threaten to throw them out once they get inside. At some point folks just quit coming. Then we’ll act shocked when the world moves on without us.
