"This was a page trying to preserve the relationship while cheating on the vow."

"That sentence sits there like a dead body in a tuxedo. Technically visible. Perfectly undeniable. Yet somehow still made to behave."

Love your metaphors! You make reading about sad things like the downward spiral of newspapers kinda fun. Thanks for sharing your writing talents and keen perspective with the universe.

Bravo! I was watching the movie play out in the WP editorial room and cheering you on. Your ability to point out the weakness and intentional dim lighting applied to the news is why your column is important. Thank you for your view of the media and for pointing out the blackouts and gaslighting that is happening so often. And yes, your metaphors and similes are very effective and brilliant.

When WP chose not to endorse Harris for President in 2024, I canceled my subscription. After reading this excellent essay, I'm so glad that I did.

Brilliant analysis that lays bare the insidiousness of the uber elites. Makes me sick.

I just spent an hour reading this post, pausing at certain phrases to copy them into my "snippets notebook" to ponder later, then tried to buy you a cup of coffee, adding a paragraph raving about your writing, but it didn't go through. The gist of it was "When do you sleep?!" And when do I sleep? It's 2:45 a.m. I need more coffee. You're that good.

Excellent - superb essay. Best insight, analysis, and critique of today’s mainstream news (and specifically WAPO) I’ve read in recent memory.

MSM normalizes the sociopathy & serial criiminality of the Chosen One.

After a century+ of wars over control of fossil fuels, we need to accelerate transition to less centralized renewable energy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87t_6wMoJEg For about the same cost as another Mideast war, renewables could make oil less relevant. https://newrepublic.com/article/207946/iran-war-oil-hormuz-price-energy

I love that phrase about not lying but making you feel crazy for responding at proper volume. Absolute gaslighting, as overused as the term is. Those of us who have gotten rid of abusive spouses recognize all these moves. And we got rid of our Washington Post subscription when they refuse to adore the candidate for the first time in a gazillion years. In such an obvious election. Bezos has ruined a national treasure period This is what billionaires do colon they break stuff. Big stuff.

Thanks for noticing what that trained eye of yours sees and showing it to the rest of us with such poetry!
