You have a gift - and that can be a curse - you are blessing to many of us - you cut thru the dark. This platform has been flooded - especially with big wigs that jumped from major media to suck up all the action with their fancy pants tech streaming - but you can write - you can see things (but I guess not the $$ signs!!). I am a subscriber because I do read and learn ... and I feel that deserves $80 a year.

Thank you, Katherine. And whew, the part about the curse landed, because seeing clearly does not automatically tell you how to keep the lights on while you say what you see. I do notice the dollar signs. I just never wanted them to become the only language in the room. Your $80 is not abstract to me. It is time, trust and a vote for the work to keep going.

I know it's upsetting, Xplisset, but people are struggling, man. This place is also saturated with people wanting to live off of Substack. I'm in the negative at my bank, or I'd support you.

It's like being in Major League Sports. Not everybody gets to be a superstar and those that don't shouldn't complain about what's happening to this country. Hang in there, sir.

That’s the beautiful thing about Substack and other endeavors of this nature on the Internet. There are those whose bank accounts are not in the negative in fact their bank accounts could support a small nation. Those are the ones who I’m appealing to help support and fund those who with the talent to speak truth to power for those like you and me who cannot necessarily support it with $. Look at Wikipedia. If you think that the collective economy of support cannot work on Substack or Wikipedia then how in the world do you think it can work on a national scale with policies that you and are support which is those that have the means must carry the burden i.e. progressive tax brackets?

As for people trying to make a living off of Substack, listen, for someone who has dedicated their lives and talent to the purveyance of truth and virtues such as the first amendment hell yeah they deserve to have to do the work without having to mortgage their house and starve under a bridge.

I hear you, man. I’m not sure about that when it comes to being Black, though. Black rich/wealthy ones seem to only care about themselves, and white folks support their own. Some of them support us, but you know how that goes here and everywhere else on the internet. I’ve been around since the very beginning of the internet and have watched this social media craze since it started as well. IT was my career. The ones making it big here already came with a huge following. Other ones who grew their channels methodically and slowly are also complaining that they’re losing paid subscribers. Sorry, sir.

Thank you, Kathy. I appreciate you showing up under this one. It was hard putting this out there again, so your support really does matter. And I appreciate you even considering the coffee. 🙏
