I am going to say it plainly. I am disgusted at the way the platform demands authors’ conformity. I am gobsmacked to think anyone could actually make a living relying on individual subscriptions in an entire universe of excellent people to follow. Every day, I feel as though I ought to pay-subscribe to everyone I read. I’m on a fixed income, and it isn’t possible.
Xplisset, I am a paid subscriber because your analyses lifted my thinking to a new place. Your professional life experience- armed service, law enforcement- overlaid with the lived experience of being a black man in the United States, drew me to want to invest in your keen observations.
And there are a couple other folks to whose pages I have subscribed. I have found, interestingly, that I often most enjoy the short-form pieces that name a thing precisely. Boom! Love that! The longer pieces, obviously developed through arduous research, culling, and crating, are more like a study.
I hope you are able to do this thing the way you want to. I will continue to read, to respect, and to follow your words, however and wherever they land. ♥️
