Sue, listen, that means more than you know. Most people catch the headline. You caught the whole picture, and that tells me the work landed where it needed to. Thank you for really reading it.

Here's a link to a site where you can track crude prices in real time.

Lots of oil and natural gas, not to mention potash and other agricultural necessities, plus grain and other foods, plus rare earth minerals, gold and stuff like that in that neighbour to the north that has been so often assured that the U.S. does not need. Okay, but what next? The problem is that when Canada sold oil to the U.S., it gave the U.S. a discount, and that has been interpreted by your astute emperor to mean that we Canadians had an economic advantage as a fossil fuel provider, ergo, we must be punished. For some reason that didn't please us up here, and having lost a trading partner, the major one by far, we are busily trying to arrange new trading routes to other more reliable trading partners, like China. It's just too bad that we didn't do it much, much earlier...silly us for trusting trade agreements, eh? It's as if we thought an American president would honor his own fat signature, and an agreement of his making. Silly us.

And with all due respect, as one struggling himself with escalating prices for pretty well everything, I am working hard to find sympathy. I mean I had it, but I was directing my sympathy toward families who had lost things like, well, their livelihood, or homes, or perhaps the odd child or aunt or mom or dog...you know, that sort of thing. I know. I know...other peoples' problems Oh, I also know that some of those people may be related to or otherwise know people who are shooting back at the people who are trying to kill them...resulting in flag-draped coffins being shipped back to where they came to be saluted by the people who sent the contents of those coffins into danger in the first place. That makes sense, I guess.. At least they died in service of a righteous cause, distraction from the Epstein files and maybe, just maybe, to provide an excuse for election cancellation. What good is an emperor with term limits? Okay...some sympathy goes south for folks filling the tank. I mean, who knew that electing a lying crook with no political experience, no involvement in honest work, and a chain of failed scams and businesses could lead to such enormous problems?
